About Equine Performance Products

Equine Performance Products was founded in 1983 by Robert Walz who is credited for inventing one of the best Stirrups in the world, the EZ Ride Stirrup now manufactured by Easy Care Inc. To his credit, Walz has 9000 distance miles, 5 Tevis buckles, and is credited for numerous top finishes. Walz still rides to this day.

In 1998,  Mr Walz appointed Steve Elliott as President of Equine Performance Products and transferred ownership of the company shortly thereafter with the goal of continued support for the many riders, friends, and customers in this fine sport. Steve Elliott is an active Endurance Rider in his own right, an ultra Marathoner with great achievements in finishing the Western States 100 mile Run, the Western States Tevis 100, and 50 mile ultras, with over 1000 miles to his credit.

Steve Elliott and Robert Walz continue to develop new innovations for the Equine World and Equine Performance Products has already produced the first Handheld Heart Rate Monitor: The Equi-Pulsz I.

Equine Performance Products offers the serious horseperson the most complete line of Equine Heart rate monitors and other specialty products in the industry.

Equine Performance Products has been a leader in the development of equine monitors, being the first to introduce the reusable Carbon rubber electrodes as well as the patented Easy Rate system which can be used with or without tack.

On January 30, 2006 Equine Performance Products was purchased by Lori Baker and her husband Kelly Courtright. Our goal is to continue to offer the best quality endurance merchandise and the best service while expanding into gear for dressage, jumping and event riding. We believe that horse health and comfort and rider balance are the keys to a happy equine partnership.
